Faith@Work “Making It Count: The Power Of True Rest.”
With Matthew Kimpton-Smith, Group MD, Cygnet Group
‘Work, rest and play’ sounds good but how do we manage it in real life? At any given time in the UK, one in five people feels unusually tired, and one in 10 have prolonged fatigue. A lack of sleep is one of the biggest health concerns for nearly half the population.
Matthew Kimpton-Smith is Chief Managing Director of engineering specialists Cygnet Group. In 2012 Cygnet boasted a turnover of £22.8m (up from £16m in 2011 and £7.2m in 2010), was listed in The Sunday Times 2013 Tech Track 100 and came 4th in the 2014 Manchester Fastest 50 awards. In his talk, Matthew will explore some of the lessons he’s learned about hard work and true rest over the years he’s spent in business. He’ll openly share how Jesus Christ’s teaching on the issue of busyness and rest has had a positive impact on his life and still makes sense for us today. Anyone is welcome to attend whether you have religious beliefs or not.
